New Topic: Opinions on Induction Cooktops needed [General Merchandise]

Posted by: amazedncal2
I need to replace our 26 year old electric cooktop. I had never heard of induction cooking until I started looking at prices/brands for replacement. Does anyone have opinions/advice on whether I should stick with what I know (electric) or go with induction. No chance of going to gas as I don’t want to run the gas lines as an added expense.
Thanks!

New Topic: Disneyland Doggy ‘Potty’ Yards [Disneyland General]

Posted by: 1Gee1
I was surprised to see so many dogs at Disneyland lately! I’m not talking about official Guide Dogs or true service dogs, I’m talking about little “companion” dogs. Last Monday, I must have seen at least 8 little dogs (various Terrier-types, a Pekingese, and others). One was in a stroller, one was riding in the basket of an electric scooter, others were on typical leashes. Only one was wearing a homemade t-shirt that said, “Therapy Dog.”

Among other issues, I began to wonder about them relieving themselves. Well, Disneyland thought about that too…there are Doggy “Potty Yards” (complete with fire hydrants) around. Have you noticed them? I took photos of three of them, one on Main Street–near the Tomorrowland entrance, another next to IASM, and a third near Big Thunder Ranch. Photos are at: http://s1194.photobucket.com/a…neyland/

I hope this doesn’t get out of hand in the parks! I know that it’s important for some people to have their pets with them, but really? At Disneyland? I guess some dogs are trained not to lift their leg or squat impulsively, but it’s a long walk between “Potty Yards”! Also, it could pose a hazard if the leash trips someone or a doggy snaps at a child. I thought that’s why they had the kennel outside the gates!

Just my opinion…

New Topic: Disneyland Paris Thoughts! [Disneyland Paris]

Posted by: Malin
I have just come back from Disneyland Paris with many thoughts which I’ll share a bit later. But many positives things to report and a few negatives. The worst one being how shocking some of the Animatronics and various ride effects were in the various attractions. Main ones being Pirates and Phantom Manor. Some minor improvements were made during the week. But I know a lot of the problems were evident last month. And that’s even more shocking that these issues have yet to be fixed. Don’t let pictures of refurbishments that some have been posting on various message boards fool you. Yeah the park looks good on the outside but the same love and care has not been shown to the attractions. I’ll rant on this a bit more later and in my view a Resort suffering in ride capacity, entertainment, and we even had the Characters go on strike on one of the days. But I’ll also report back on the positives like how amazing Disney Dreams the new show was and some other stuff.

New Topic: Cinderella Castle Tour plus Easter Egg Hunt [Tokyo Disneyland]

I didn’t see photos linked anywhere on the board, so I’ve posted a few from the new Cinderella’s Castle tour at TDL:

It’s nowhere near the atmospheric villain-themed tour they used to have in Tokyo, but the various dioramas telling the Cinderella story are artistically done and worth checking out.

While poking around, I also stumbled across someone else’s *much* better photos of the great “Easter Egg Hunt” going on at Tokyo Disneyland these days, with character-themed “eggs” hidden around the park:

Enjoy!
